About This Newsletter

Welcome — and thanks for reading.

This newsletter is a space for sharp, clear-eyed analysis of the world’s most consequential events. I write about politics, foreign affairs, history, and the ripple effects of power — not to score points, but to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface.

My work is guided by a simple belief:
America’s choices matter. They shape lives not just within our borders, but far beyond them.

To balance out the serious stuff, I’ve also launched a satirical section — Democracy Dies in Memes — where I roast the absurdities of modern geopolitics, culture wars, and digital life. (pls don’t cancel me for this).

Who I Am

My name is Marco Rodriguez. I hold a Master’s degree in International Affairs with a concentration in Security Studies from American University, and I’ve worked on anti-corruption and democracy programs across Latin America with the International Republican Institute.

That experience gave me a front-row seat to the real-world impact of U.S. foreign policy — both its ideals and its contradictions.

Now, I write to connect the dots: between what leaders say and what governments do; between history and the headlines; between power and accountability.
